Route 1: Traveling on Interstate 40/85
(expect a 15-20 minute travel time from I-40/85 to the school)

  • Take exit number 140 (University Drive and Elon)
    At the top of the exit ramp turn onto University Drive toward Elon and Elon University
    If traveling I-85 North/I-40 East, turn left at the top of the exit ramp
    If traveling I-85 South/I-40 West, turn right at the top of the exit ramp
  • Go approximately 3.0 miles to the Stop sign just past the Railroad Tracks
    University Drive becomes Cook Road approximately two miles after leaving the Interstate highway
    Turn right onto Burlington Ave
  • Go approximately 0.1 mile to the first stoplight
    Turn left onto University Drive, also known as Highway 100 East
  • Go approximately 1.0 mile to the first stoplight
    Turn left onto North Williamson Ave
    North Williamson Ave will become Shallowford Church Road approximately 300 feet after making the turn
  • Go approximately 1.5 miles to the first stoplight
    Turn left onto Highway 87 North
  • Go 1.4 miles
    Western Alamance High School is on the right

Route 2: Traveling from the State of Virginia

  • Take US Highway 29 South to Reidsville, North Carolina
  • In Reidsville, NC, take Highway 87 South towards Burlington, NC
    Go approximately 18 miles
    Western Alamance High School is on the left

During the school day, all visitors are required to immediately report to the office and obtain a visitor's pass.

Notice- Parking for Sporting events is NOT allowed on Gerringer Mill Road
